Milestones Minutes June 2021
Welcome to the Milestones Enchanted Forest! For the month of June our classrooms will be immersing themselves in the forest realm, learning about forest animals, plants and trees, toadstools, fairies, fairy tales, castles, dragons, princes and princesses! There is a dragon living in our Stingrays, a majestic tree with animal burrows in our Seahorses and bears in our Dolphins. Fostering imagination in young children is important to promote brain development. Please take a moment when you drop off or pick up to see how your classroom has been transformed and the wonderful artwork that your children have been making to create this engaging and interactive environment.
Our enchanted forest will be extended into our Mariposa Garden with the children making their very own fairies from the natural materials our garden can provide. We also have a lovely fairy garden that the children enjoy exploring. Our garden has experienced an explosion of baby frogs with all the rain. We have been teaching them to respect these little natural wonders and protect them as they grow and mature into adult frogs.
We have very exciting news! Ms. Kate Eaton will be providing “Namaste with Nature” in the Mariposa Garden for our Stingrays, Sea Turtles and Seahorses every other Wednesday! Our classes thoroughly enjoyed their yoga experience when we had our first trial run but it went so well that we have decided to continue providing this for the children. Yoga is a wonderful way for the children to learn balance, through breathing, stretching and meditative techniques. Our next class will be this Wednesday, June 16th.
Mr. Mark Puppet Palooza
Mr. Mark always has a great time singing with the Milestones classes but he had a blast with Stingrays, Sea Turtles and Seahorses making puppets and performing puppet shows. Below are two videos showing off their work. Enjoy!
We wanted to remind our families when you are dropping off and picking up that you and your child/children should be washing hands at our outdoor hand washing station before entering the school. If you are dropping off or picking up outside you are not required to wear a mask but please make sure you have a mask with you so you are prepared to enter the building if your child needs to be dropped off or picked up inside. We are trying to allow Ms. Stacey and Ms. Ann the ability to perform their administrative tasks and move forward with parents being responsible for bringing their children to class and picking them up. We appreciate your support with assisting us in making this transition.
