To all Milestones Families

Re: COVID 19 update

We hope today’s update finds everyone safe.  Thank you for giving us information about your child care needs for next week. As of 2pm today, March 20, 2020, we are planning on being open on Monday, March 23, 2020 as we have had families indicate essential needs for child care next week.  We will be working with a limited staff but will continue to offer care as needed and allowed.

As of Monday, March 23, 2020, you will only pay for child care for days that your child attends.  If you have prepaid your tuition for the month of March, you will receive a credit for the days you do not attend starting with March 23rd.Our current plan is to give this credit in April.

As of Monday, March 23, 2020, there will be no automatic charges on your credit card or bank accounts for tuition. We have suspended our automatic payment processing.

We have been informed by the North Carolina Department of Social Services that they will pay their portion of child care for the entire month of March regardless of how many days the child attended. As of this date, the parent co-pays are still in effect for the month of March.

There is no need to withdraw your child from our program at this point to avoid future charges.

We have been asked by the Division of Child Development to take in children from other programs that have shut down, but have elected not to do that at this time so that we can preserve the safety of our current families.

As for our staff, we are taking all recommended measures to ensure they are physically and financially protected.  All our full time employees receive 12 days of paid time off a year and are covered under a health insurance program with United Health Care. Our goal is to continue that through this crisis. United Health Care has been very responsive with information concerning the coronavirus crisis and waiving fees associated with it.

We are thoroughly investigating the Federal governments H.R.6201 – Families First Coronavirus Response Act bill that was enacted Wednesday with regard to paid sick leave for employees to make sure we do all we can to assist our employees during this time.

We will provide another update the first of next week.  Thank you for sharing your children with us.
