Dear Milestones Families and Staff:
Following is our daily update on the Coronavirus and our status.
- We have been notified by a parent that we have had a parent who was in contact with an individual who later tested positive for the Coronavirus. This parent had contact March 6th,7th and 8th with an individual who began showing symptoms on March 11th and had a positive test result come back on March 16th. This parent has chosen to self-quarantine under the advice of the Health Department until March 21st. To our knowledge, this parent has no signs of illness at this time. As of today, we have received no directives from the Health Department about any individuals that have had contact with Milestones staff or families concerning the virus.
- The State of North Carolina has not recommended that child care centers close. They have asked us to stay open for families that need us. We want to stay open as long as possible for our families. In order to make the decision of if and/or when to close, we need to know what our families immediate needs are for child care. Please respond to this email or call us at (910) 452-3202 to let us know what your family needs with regard to child care are right now. If you have already contacted us about your plans, you do not need to do so again.
- On Thursday March 19, 2020 to further limit exposure to outside germs, we will begin having parents drop off and pick up in the lobby. A staff member will take your child to the classroom for you. After teachers help them wash their hands, they will do a health and temperature check of each child. Our policy of no one with a temperature of more than 100 degrees not remaining in the building will continue to be in effect.
Thank you for your assistance in this unprecedented time. We will provide another update tomorrow-Thursday, March 19, 2020.
