March 16, 2020

To All Families:

The NC Division of Child Development is not recommending that childcare centers close at this time due to the Coronavirus. Today they issued guidelines for us to follow and we are implementing them starting tomorrow March 17, 2020. Milestones Learning Center’s changes are as follows (Please read carefully):

Through the end of March….

Our hours of operation will be 8:00 am – 5:30 pm. This will enable one or both of your child’s teachers to be in your child’s classroom for the entire opening hours of the day. Teachers or children will not inter-mingle with other children and staff, indoors, for the entire day. Outdoor classrooms that have normally combined as part of their daily schedule will continue to do that.

Please deliver your child directly to their child’s classroom door, not stopping to visit/interact with any other staff or children. One of your child’s teachers will meet you at the door, bring your child into the classroom, help them wash their hands and begin their day. Your child’s teacher will also meet you at the classroom door during pick-up. The staff will be completing the sign in and out form for parents. Only one adult per family will be permitted in the building for drop off and pick-up and no adult other than staff members will be allowed in the classrooms. No siblings that are not enrolled at Milestones should come in at drop off and pick-up. We are advising no one over 65 years of age or anyone with a compromised immune system to drop off or pick up children.

Meal Times- Breakfast will be available from 8:30 – 9:30, Lunch will be served between 11:00 and 12:30 depending on the age of the classroom. Snack will be served at 2:30 as usual.

Parents are encouraged to take their child’s temperature, as well as their own before arriving at the school. Any person with a temperature of 10 degrees or greater will not be allowed to remain at Milestones. We will be conducting a daily health check of all staff and children. You will be notified if temperature screening becomes mandatory upon entering the building.

We have instituted a “No Visitor” policy until the end of March. The only people allowed in the building during this time is the one parent dropping off/picking up children and Milestones Learning Center staff.

As stated before, our plan is to remain open and be here for our families during this difficult time. This is a rapidly changing situation and we will update you of any changes via email, our website and our voice mail. Thank you for helping make this a safe and healthy environment for our children and staff.
